Abstract
Electronic Sports or eSports are the result of the professionalization of the competitive world of video games, a relatively recent phenomenon that has been developed strongly in recent years. This market has made the Internet its cornerstone, making exploration and consolidation of new communication techniques through transmedia procedures, television via streaming and video on demand. In Spain, as well as in other European and South American countries, competitions and sponsorship system becomes increasingly complex, resembling the American and South Korean model. The development of this sector has attracted companies from different fields in order to position their brands in an emerging market that has proven to be stable and profitable, while continuing to grow.
