Netol, a story about advertising

Authors

Abstract

A book that pays homage not only to the “Netol” brand but also to the work of many people who have worked in advertising. Advertising has been and is present in the social and economic transformation of Catalonia and Spain. With the excuse of safeguarding the historical elements of the professions and shopkeepers of our country, Sico Farràs collects a huge number of advertising products. Apart from surprising the general public, it is evidence that current advertising (that of the digital era) has its bases in the advertising generated at the beginning of the 20th century. The collection in the book subject of the review represents the evolution of the history and graphic-advertising iconography of the NETOL brand. Naiming, Copy, Packaging or out of home, are just some examples of what graphic design and advertising do and can do for brands.
